Director of Programs
Zainab Syeda Qureshi serves as the Director of Programs at SAN. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in International Studies, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies from California State University, Long Beach. Zainab has many years of leadership and organizing experience working in immigrant rights advocacy with a diverse range of community partners from across the Southern California region. Her prior experience includes working with individuals facing deportation while incarcerated and in immigration detention to connect them to legal resources and know your rights information. Furthermore, Zainab has worked closely with Asian American and Pacific Islander communities to advance access to healthcare, health resources, and language justice.
Zainab is an active member of the Orange County Rapid Response Network where she organizes with systems-impacted community members in Orange County through the Participatory Defense model. She is deeply passionate about challenging the power systems and structures that cage individuals and continue to separate families. She continues to invest in the advancement of immigrant and BIPOC communities. In her free time, she enjoys baking for her loved ones and spending time in nature.
