The South Asian Network (SAN) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides culturally and linguistically specific services to and advocacy on behalf of South Asians in Southern California, in the areas of healthcare access, gender-based violence, and civil rights/civic engagement.
We were founded in 1990 by a group of activists and volunteers gathered in a living room to address the needs of a rapidly growing community.
Over the past 32 years, we have grown to be a fully staffed agency with multilingual staff, representing South Asian countries, and various faith traditions. We have built trust in our community, continuing to provide support to those who often have no place else to turn.
Over the last more than three decades, we have served approximately 26,000 women, men, and children. Our vision is that everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, country of origin, gender, faith, or ability in the South Asian community be able to live a life of dignity, and provide a safe, healthy and financially secure future for themselves and their family.
