Saleena Dhakal serves as the Special Projects Coordinator at the South Asian Network, where she plays a pivotal role in supporting and implementing initiatives that uplift and empower South Asian communities. Originally from Nepal, Saleena brings a rich cultural perspective and a deep understanding of immigrant experiences to her work, drawing on her heritage as she works to create supportive spaces for South Asian voices in the U.S.
A graduate of the University of California, Irvine, Saleena holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Policy and Public Service. Her academic background fuels her dedication to community-focused advocacy, policy development, and creative social change. Saleena combines research-driven strategies with culturally resonant, artful solutions that connect with and inspire the community. Her commitment to fostering inclusivity, resilience, and well-being in the community drives her to continuously explore ways to make SAN’s impact more meaningful and far-reaching.
