Youth Leader
Smita is a Youth Leader Intern at South Asian Network and an undergrad at the University of Southern California, where she studies Health Promotion and Disease Prevention on the pre-dental track. As a Bengali-American who speaks both English and Bangla, she’s passionate about giving back to her community and making health resources more accessible to underserved communities. Her interests include public health, health equity, youth advocacy, harm reduction, and substance abuse awareness. At SAN, Smita hopes to connect other San Asian youth, create culturally relevant health initiatives, and empower youth to advocate for their communities. In the future, she hopes to become a dentist while continuing her work in community health and advocacy.
