Dr. Makhijani is the Chief of Staff at the Motion Picture and Television Fund Hospital in Woodland Hills, and a physician with UCLA specializing in Geriatrics. She is currently also studying Ayurveda.
Meena is also a musician, with her focus on playing tabla. She has recorded and performed with the Bangles, and was a member of the band Asian Crisis, and plays regularly in kirtans and for meditations. Additionally she is an Indian Classical Dancer in the style of Bharata Natyam.
Meena grew up in Los Angeles, and is thrilled to get to serve her community as a longtime Member of the Board of Directors of the South Asian Network.
