Mental Health Manager
Mahtab earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with a focus in Trauma from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time in Boston, Mahtab worked as an In-Home Therapist serving children and adolescents suffering from trauma and emotional disturbances. Before attending graduate school, she spent a summer in Istanbul, Turkey where she worked with an NGO serving Syrian refugees who resettled in Turkey. Mahtab has been passionate about social justice issues and serving refugees, immigrants, and marginalized/disenfranchised communities.
She is an active member of the Muslim Anti-Racism Collaborative (ARC) and is committed to promoting anti-racist practices and services within her work. Mahtab is fluent in several languages including English, Urdu, Hindko, and Pashto. She is honored to be a part of SAN, and is committed to educating and bettering the mental and emotional health of marginalized communities.
