Meet us in front of the South Asian Network Office at: 18173 Pioneer Blvd Artesia, CA 90701 on Wednesday, August 21st at 4 pm for a Silent Protest and Vigil for the victim and in solidarity with the women on the streets in India.
We will have a call to action, speeches, and a silent protest walk down Pioneer Blvd with signs.

Support the fight for systemic change and the safety and security of women throughout India.

Today is Indian Independence Day. As we recognize

Today is Indian Independence Day. As we recognize India’s independence from British colonizers, we also mourn the loss of the innocent life of a young doctor who was inhumanely raped and brutally murdered. As an organization that works to end sexual violence at our communities here in LA, along with other forms of opression, we want to express our solidarity with all the protesters across the nation. As we celebrate the independence from imperial powers, we also must commit to preserving and upholding the rights and freedoms of our own people. We are calling upon the leaders of the country to promptly hold accountable those who have committed such heinous acts of violence. No one is independent until all are independent. #indianindependenceday
