Anita, our client aged 72 years, did not have a support system and was seeking affordable housing. After signing the lease and moving, in she experienced violent harassment, verbal/sexual abuse, and more from her male housemate.
He showed her sexual materials without her consent, and threatened her safety/life through words, weapons, etc. Her landlord refused to support her or help her escape the situation. SAN assisted in providing this victim with safety planning, referring her to a legal aid agency, offering her mental health counseling, and giving her resources to file police repprts.
