
Leena Mumtaz has recently assumed the role of Community Organizer at the South Asian Network, where she brings her considerable expertise and dedication to the organization. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
In her capacity at the South Asian Network, Leena is responsible for a diverse array of responsibilities that are integral to the organization’s mission. These include promoting civic engagement, building a robust community base, organizing labor efforts, advocating for workers’ rights, and fostering coalitions. Additionally, she is involved in hate crime training initiatives, policy development, and voter engagement and education efforts. Her work also extends to establishing legislative connections that are vital for advancing the rights and interests of the communities served by the organization.
