Comms & Community Outreach, Orange County
Anika serves a joint position as the Communications Coordinator and Community Outreach Coordinator within Orange County. Growing up in LA, Anika was exposed to a diverse population and the various challenges they faced, influencing her to quickly develop a passion for social justice. During high school, she dedicated time to the CalY Youth and Government program where she discovered her interests in the legal field. She is now at the University of California, Irvine studying political science, with a minor in management, and plans to attend law school after graduating. Her main goal is to be able to change the system that has been built to work against minorities for centuries.
During her time at UCI, Anika has involved herself in various organizations such as the Campuswide Honors Collegium, Pre-Law Society, Indian Subcontinental Club, and Women in Leadership program. At South Asian Network, she hopes to collaborate with the civil rights unit and is currently working to increase awareness about our organization through social media and outreach events, effectively advancing the organization’s relationship with SoCal’s South Asian population. She is honored to be working with SAN and is ready to make a difference and advocate for our voices to be heard.
