Civil Rights Unit Intern
Rahul Yates serves as a Civil Rights Unit Intern working at SAN’s Stop the Hate campaign and developing a South Asian Community Asset Map connecting South Asians across the Southern California region. He identifies as multiracial and multicultural, with South Asian and European heritage. Rahul is a junior at Brentwood School, where he is a student diversity leader, and is involved in the peer tutoring and mentoring programs, orchestra, debate team, and musicals, while maintaining a strong academic standing. Outside of school, he passionately advocates for multiracial and multicultural teenagers through his platform, HumSub GlobalTEEN, and is also a Bharata Natyam (classical Indian dance form) dancer with over 12 years of training. As diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice are very important to him, Rahul is grateful for the opportunity to uplift and empower South Asians with the South Asian Network.
