Mental Health Unit Intern
Ishita Madan is completing her second year in the University of Southern California’s MSW program, with a concentration in adult mental health. She has a bachelor’s degree in History and a certificate in Global Studies. Ishita has been passionate about human rights from a young age, participating in feminist campus organizations as an undergraduate and interning at the Thomas Merton Center, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the rights of refugees, victims of war, and victims of mass incarceration. After graduation, she resumed nonprofit work geared towards human and environmental welfare. Ishita spent a year with the Weingart Center as a Clinical Intern, and will continue to provide mental health services at the South Asian Network. She hopes to continue addressing the mental health of neglected communities in the future, and supporting those who are marginalized within the South Asian community.
