The Immigration Attorney provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed immigration legal services to South Asian and other immigrant communities in Southern California. This role delivers direct representation, legal counsel, and community education while advancing immigrant rights through advocacy, coalition work, and systems change.
Key Focus Areas:
- Provide direct immigration legal services, including asylum, VAWA, U/T visas, TPS, DACA, naturalization, and removal defense
- Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, BIA, and federal courts, as appropriate
- Conduct legal intakes, case assessments, and prepare immigration applications and filings
- Support survivors of violence through DV-related immigration relief in coordination with SAN programs
- Lead Know Your Rights workshops, legal clinics, and community education efforts
- Engage in advocacy, coalition-building, and policy response related to immigrant rights
- Support grant reporting, data tracking, and supervision of interns, volunteers, and pro bono attorneys
