The South Asian Network’s annual gala is a special evening that brings the greater Los Angeles community together in celebration of the achievements of the South Asian Network (SAN), recognition of leaders in our community, and to raise support for SAN’s important programming.
The evening features a cocktail reception, dinner, awards program, and entertainment. Over 250 business, government, and nonprofit leaders are expected to attend the Gala from the Greater Los Angeles and Orange counties.
We are excited to have one of the most audacious and unapologetically proud South Asian-American Activist-Politician Kshama Sawant to keynote our event.
This year, we are very excited to recognize:
Sonali Kolhatkar as SAN’s Social Justice Advocate. Sonali is a widely admired host and producer of Rising Up With Sonali, a popular radio program on KPFK (90.7 FM) in Los Angeles, author of Rising Up: The Power of Narrative in Pursuing Racial Justice and co-director of the Afghan Women’s Mission.
Suma Mathai as SAN’s Goodwill Ambassador Award. Suma is a public interest attorney, a former Board Member of SAN and a lifelong advocate against gender-based violence. She has been working with children and families for over three decades.
